1/9It was super Sunday on cards as the arch rivals India and Pakistan met in the Super Eight clash. As Ravichandran Ashwin pointed out, the Pakistan fans had out numbered the Indian supporters. A few neutral fans took the opportunity to show solidarity, but the tension in the air could not be missed.

2/9Pakistan got off to a strong start and found the boundaries at will, but Irfan Pathan handed the new ball for the first time in the tournament provided the breakthrough. Pathan hit good speeds and sent back dangerous Imran Nazir to reduce Pakistan for 17/1 in the second over.
-
3/9Skipper Mohammed Hafeez threw the gauntlet, promoting big-hitting Shahid Afridi to No.3. The former Pakistan skipper made his intentions clear and smacked a couple of trademark boundaries, But L. Balaji, replacing Harbhajan Singh, laid a short ball trap and Afridi obeyed it as he found Raina at the midwicket.

4/9Yuvraj Singh was in the midst of action very soon as he removed Nasir Jamshed in his first over. Even though Jamshed disgreed with the umpires decision there was a sound as the ball passed the bat and Indians were confident too. As Jamshed showed his dissent, Yuvraj could not refrain himself from throwing a angry stare at Jamshed. Pakistan were reduced to 43/3.
-
5/9Yuvraj Singh was always in the middle of action and he showed that he was closing in on his fitness as he caught Yasir Arafat with a direct hit from the covers. By then Pakistan's slump had started and were struggling at 115/8.
-
6/9India's chase was off to a disastrous start as young Hasan Raza dismissed Gautham Gambhir for a duck. It looked like Pakistan were up to the task of defending their lowest T20I total. India were 1/1.
-
7/9Just when Virat Kohli was looking good, Umar Akmal dropped a sharp catch off Yasir Arafat. Kohli was on 42 and had Umar held on to the catch, India would have been in tougher situation, but as it turned out to be, the dropped catch in the 10th over proved to be costly.

8/9Talk about taking responsibilities and Virat Kohli is up to the task. Just 23 years of age, the Delhi lad has transformed himself into one of the best finishers in the game. While most of the finishers come in at No. 5 or 6, Kohli walks in at No. 3 and as he showed against Pakistan and Saeed Ajmal, he is up to any challenge and as the responsibilities increase his concentration also increases. He ensured that he saw India to victory as his team registered one of the biggest victories against Pakistan.

9/9Pakistan fans could have hardly believed their team failed to break the India jinx at the World Cup. This was one of the best opportunities to defeat India in a World Cup after being high on confidence. That was not to be as India registered a comfortable victory and helped them jump back into the semifinal race.
As someone said, the match between India and Pakistan is more than just another cricket match. The emotions will be high in both the countries and both players do not want to lose to each other especially in a World Cup.
On the other hand, the Indians have always shown the nerves of steel to beat Pakistan in World Cup and the story continued in the Super Eight clash too.
